To be honest I think they should quit with this ridiculous Maria , Frank and the factory storyline. It just doesnt work with Maria, now its to be dragged out more with Maria reporting Frank to the police for "attempted rape". Trying to kiss someone and attempting to put your hand up their skirt is a horrible experience and Frank is a total creep but its not attempted rape and in my opinion this poorly written (again) story just trivialises women who have been raped or seriously sexually assaulted and Maria just comes across as a stupid irritating woman. I know it was originally written for Kym Marsh but its not working and should have ended two weeks ago, not dragged out to Frank being arrested.
So, Chris beats up Frank. Long predicted on these boards. Zzzzz
Yes, and frankly (pun intended) I'm looking forward to it. She should have told Chris ages ago.
Told Chris what Tvor? That Carla tried to use her as a honey trap and Frank thought she was up for it? He has apologised so does he deserve a beating from neanderthal Chris? Chris got away scott free with burgling Janis and beating up Jim, now you think he should be committing further violent crime?
Maria feels (rightly or wrongly) that Frank tried to rape her. If she believes it, she shouldn't have kept it from her boyfriend all this time no matter how it affected the factory. Yes, Frank apologized and maria can't leave it alone or put it behind her but she honestly believes what she believes and at least this will move the storyline along from just endless scenes of her moaning.
Chris throttles Frank! You called it TVOR!!!
Yoork
I didn't realise that Corrie had morphed into "Life on Mars". Woman dresses up, goes alone to a man's house and has a drink, so she must be "up for it". Woman is so traumatised by man leaping on her that she can't talk about it to anyone and when she does spill the beans, refuses to call the police. Weeks later justice is served by boyfriend beating up attacker. Well Maria is only a women isn't she - just a victim. What demeaning utter rubbish.
Maria dressed up and went to his house alone, yes, and flirted and had a drink. Frank fancied her and misread the signals, he admits it. His mistake was not taking her first No for an answer and he pushed himself at her, scaring her. I don't think he ever had any intentions of rape or forcing her to have sex. He believed she fancied him and she believes what she believes.
She did tell Carla but other than scolding Frank, Carla has been doing very little else to support Maria at the expense of her business. I think if i'd been Maria, brand new in a job and my employer behaved as Carla has, i'd have quit the job, giving it up as a bad fit. Maria never should have been put in the position of dressing up like that at Carla's encouragement just to drop off some design samples. Courier them over to him, for heavens' sake! If she's seen as a victim, she's made herself into one by not standing up for herself and telling Chris if not the police. Unfortunately women are still treated like victims even in this day and age. By keeping it to herself this long, even the police wouldn't be as likely to take her seriously.
Maria made it perfectly clear she wasn't interested to Frank and she had the right not to be assaulted by him. That's what it was and who knows what his intentions were?
Why should Maria lose her job over this? Why is it Maria's conduct that is being criticised, not Frank's? This story is appalling and Frank's apologists are even worse.
Now Maria, just shut up sweetie and sit there showing your cleavage, cos that's all women are good for.
It's the 21st Century not 1950.
He tried it on, she said no, it should have stopped there, i agree but she did overreact too.
Let's draw a line under this and move on please.
